Tyrian purple dye in ancient times was obtained from Muricidae sea snails in the region of today’s Lebanon and could only be afforded by the wealthy.
During the 1960s, the colour experienced a renaissance when it was adopted by the band Deep Purple and Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze”. Although these associations may seem opposing, purple crystals combine both worlds.

When handling some of these crystals, sometimes you can clean them with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. If it is a gem, some of them are only to be cleaned with a damp cloth.
